Proposed Legislation
-In Process-
We will be crafting bills for consideration by the U.S. Congress, the Oregon State Legislature, and County Commissions to advance the goal of returning ownership and control of public lands to the Chartered Counties of Oregon.
Among those will be:
1. A bill prepared for the U.S. Congress that will authorize transfer of title and jurisdiction of US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, and US Fish and Wildlife Service lands within Oregon to the Chartered Counties of Oregon.
2. A bill prepared for the Oregon State Legislature that will endorse the Petition to De-Federalize Oregon Lands, confirm the primacy and jurisdiction of the Oregon State Forest Practices Act and other State Laws that pertain to County lands, and such additions and corrections to those Acts and ORS code as will be required.
3. A bill prepared for the Oregon State Legislature that will establish and fund an Office of County Forester in every County. County Foresters will be hired by, and under the control and authority of, their respective County Commissions and will perform such duties as assigned by the County Commissions.
4. Proposed ordinances for adoption by County Commissions establishing County Forests and Rangelands and their management rules and guidelines.
